Happy Birthday "Pumpkin"

Jay will be celebrating his @* birthday on Wednesday. I will be out of town on that day so I decided to post his birthday post early. I'm hoping that his great friends and family will help him celebrate in my absence. Since he is getting so old I thought I would make a montage of all the activities he can still do at such an old age. And theres a lot more he can do but the montage will only hold so many pictures. On a more serious note. Jay is the most amazing man I have ever known, I don't believe that I have ever met anyone that didn't like him. He is such a loving, compassionate person and I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband. He is and was the most amazing father and grandfather and I'm sure his children will attest to that. The thing I admire most about this man is his love of the Gospel, he is such a good example and he truly honors his priesthood. Aside from losing his hair he is pretty much the same as he was 30 years ago when I married him, Strong, handsome, athletic, fit, healthy, and most of all a hopeless romantic. Happy Birthday Pumpkin, I love you to the moon and back!!!!!!

Tribute To A Great Young Man!

 

Today I am going to pay tribute to a pretty great man. Jayson is our 2nd child and a very wonderful Son, Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, and friend, Basically he is just a pretty great person. Jayson is one of those people that just doesn't understand the words quit, fail, or give up no matter what the task is at hand he will find a way to succeed.

As a child Jayson excelled at everything he did. In school he was always an A student and his teachers adored him. (most of the time) When it came to athletics he soared in every sport he participated in. As a child it seemed that no matter what kind of ball you placed in his hand he knew exactly what to do with it. He was a standout right from the start.

At OHS he lettered in football, basketball, and track. He was such an amazing athlete and he knew what it took to be the best. His motto was always "go hard or go home" and that is exactly what he did. He went on to play football at Utah State where he was one of the top three strongest players on the team (like father like son) he understood what it took to be the best, he always knew that he must give 100% plus and that is what he did.

Jayson is such a wonderful husband to Brigitte and I know she would agree on that, but most important he is such an amazing father to Mack and Andi, they adore their daddy and you can see it in their eyes. Whenever Jayson walks into a room where his kids are their little faces just light up. He is the kind of dad that always puts his kids first. He is always looking for every opportunity to spend time with them. Jayson spends so much time working with Mack, this little guy may look like the Arringtons but he is a little clone of his father, at the tender age of 3 this kid can kick a ball, throw a ball, hit a ball, and anything else that has to do with sports, and if you ask him how he got so good at sports he will say, "because my daddy always plays with me" (Macks own words not mine)He has become the kind of father Jay and I always hoped he would be.

When it comes to work and supporting his family he has always gone above and beyond. He works hard to make sure they are provided for, he has never been afraid of a little hard work and it truly shows in his character.

Jayson is a fine up-standing young man who loves the Lord and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He always magnifies any calling he is serving in, and his testimony is so strong. As a missionary he always went above and beyond, his mission president adored him along with those he taught. I often find myself asking him gospel questions and he usually knows the answers or where to find them. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent this amazing young man to our family, I feel so blessed to have him in my life and I feel privileged to be his mother. I love you Jayson, thanks for the ride....

The Best Part Of Life!!!

Our favorite pass time is most definitely spending time with our grand kids. I never knew this stage of my life would be so rewarding. Jay and I just can't get enough of these little people, they bring so much joy and happiness into our lives. The time is fast approaching when we will embark on a new adventure in our lives---serving a couples mission, there I said it!! Yes we are planning on jumping in with both feet and submitting the mission papers to serve. The only reservation I have is leaving behind these precious little people, I really don't mind leaving their parents for 18months but leaving them is another story entirely. 18 Months means 1 birthday each of them will have without us, 1 Christmas, 1 Easter, and so on, you get the picture. Well just another chapter in the epic saga we like to call our life--and so it goes...Yada, Yada, Yada.

Flashback Friday! My Best Yet

As you all know I spent the first 6 years of my marriage as a football players wife or as we used to call it a "football widow" I can't complain football was good to us it paid our way. Through those years we didn't just love the game we lived it. Football was a way of life for us, we ate, slept, and drank football, it was Jay's passion on and off season. I think Jay spent more time in the weight room then almost any other athlete and he had the strength to prove it. 500 pound bench press---pretty impressive. Below are some old pictures that my sister-in-law sent me, looking at these took be back to a great time in our lives. These pictures were just begging to be posted.

Flashback Friday

Two of my nationally ranked, and state champion OHS cheer squads. These girls were the BOMB, and their coaches weren't too bad either! Every one of these girls could tumble, dance, and boy oh boy could they ever stunt, Never ever dropping any flyer's. Who ever said cheer leading was easy obviously never cheered these days and certainly never cheered at OHS. I really miss these days. Aren't they beautiful.
