Don't Look Back With Regret!

I guess you could say in seasons I'm probably in the Winter season of my life.
I've lived more than half of it and I'm at the stage where I can look back and see my successes and my failures. Believe me I'm VERY AWARE OF MY FAILURES!
But I'm also aware of some of my GREAT SUCCESSES!
One place I see great success is in the time spent with my children while they were growing up. Fortunately I was able to be a stay-at-home Mom,
Something I wouldn't trade for any professional success I might have had.
When my children came home from school
I was there.
When there was a need in my children's classroom.
 I was there.
I loved being the room-Mother in all of my kids classes.
I loved driving carpool to academic, sports, cheerleading and dance events.
You'd be amazed how much you learn about your children's friends in a short ride to school or a ride home from a movie.
Jay and I NEVER missed one single academic, dance, cheerleading, or sports event that our children participated in
NEVER!
We always found the time and always made the sacrifice to fund whatever activity our children chose to participate in and then supported them one hundred percent. Many times that meant missing out on adult vacations with our friends or an evening out with friends or putting our wants on the back burner for a season. It took a lot of our time and money but it was the greatest sacrifice, I believe we ever made.
I'm not patting myself on the back perse' but after observing so many young Mothers, I have felt sadness that some of them just don't understand what President Uchtdorf is saying in this quote.
I think my deepest regret would have been finding other activities or professions that would have diverted my time away from my precious children.
They are young ONCE, and then they GROW UP!
It happens in a BLINK OF AN EYE!
Resolutions from Dieter F. Uchtdorf.
