When I was just a kid I would always see people wearing T-shirts with the "Bullfrog" Logo or just with the words "Bullfrog" written on the T shirt.
I always wondered what in the Heck it meant!
When I was dating Jay I mentioned the STUPID shirt and asked him if he knew what it meant....
He got a HUGE kick out of that one. He couldn't believe That I had never heard of "Bullfrog."
So....... He took me there..

I'm hooked I
BULLFROG
One day while shopping in the Bullfrog marina store I spotted a T-shirt with the words
"Where in the HELL is Bullfrog"
I knew I wasn't the only naive one....

This has become our favorite place on this earth.
We come here to find peace, happiness, tranquility and the BEST Freakin' water this earth has to offer.
Ohhhhh the SMELL of the water........ Simply INCREDIBLE!

When we are at Lake Powell it seems we lose all track of time, lose track of the days, and strengthen bonds between our precious family and friends....
One of the many reasons I love Jay, he showed me Lake Powell...
Now it's our place.
At the end of a "Lake Powell" day... Eyes burning, skin kissed by the sun, and exhausted....
What a way to end the day.
LOW WATER...
In our family we often speak in "Football" or "Lake Powell" Metaphors...
So here I go....
There's a place on the boat ramp that is marked "High water Point." It always surprises me when I see those marks on the ramp marking the the high points it's hard to believe the water gets that high.
Low water always makes me a little sad, it means we have had a pretty dry winter therefore the Lake doesn't fill up to it's capacity, causing some real problems.
A few summers ago we were testing out our soon-to-be Son in law. (In the Linford Family you have to be "Lake Powell" Tested.) BTW he passed with flying colors..
This particular year the lake was at an all time low {Sigh}
You can see the high water point in the photo below, usually the water is up where the red rock starts..

Jay ran over the top of a mountain that would have normally been 30 to 40 feet deeper in the water, needless to say the mountain top scraped of all 3 sides of the prop. making it impossible to to drive the boat any further. This could have been disastrous but Jay being the "seasoned" boater he is always carries a spare prop in the boat. No BIGGIE he'll just change the prop.
That's the BAD part of low water...
*
When the water is high at it's optimum level you can't get here. this cave is full of water making it impossible to visit. When the water is low you can walk right into the cave and as you can see it's SPECTACULAR
*
"High Water Point" is best, but there is great beauty in the "Low" water years as well, you just have to look for it..
And so it goes.....
in this 32 year marriage of ours, we have definitely had our "high water point" years but there have also been those low water ones as well. I have learned to look for the SPECTACULAR BEAUTY in the low water years and....Yes I have found many of those.
Just as I felt the joy when the water was low enough to walk into this slot canyon and see it's beauty, so have I found joy in my marriage when we have been at a low point. That's when you see that there is one person that will stand by you come what may, It's when you realize that it's people not things that bring true happiness.
And THAT is true BEAUTY!
I guess that's why it works!
