Doing Family history has made me a little more grateful for those wonderful people that molded mine and Jay's lives.
This Wonderful man was such a force in Jay's life.. He taught all of us so many things about how to be an honorable person..
*
He was a Captain in the United States Air Force.. He has been described as a bit of a
"Maverick"
And knowing him I would have to admit that the term fits..
*
He was an EXTRAORDINARY "Air Force Pilot" (Bomber Pilot)
Loved by all those he served with. We loved hearing all of the stories his USAF buddies had to tell about his flying days..

Grant H. Linford
*
In the far right photo he's the one wearing the hat.
I hope it's not inappropriate to say that he was such a "Stud"
(Like Father Like Son)
*
In college he played both Football and Basketball at the University of Wyoming!
(I guess we know where the Linford's get that great ATHLETICISM)
*
In 1947 he sold everything he had including his car to start his business.
At the time of his death, This little business of his had grown into a Multi Million dollar window manufacturing company, the largest in the western united states, with plants in Utah, Nevada, and Colorado..

Jay with his Dad

He was such a wonderful man loved by all who knew him.
My kids ADORED their Grandpa and he also adored them as well. He had silly endearing nicknames for each one of them. They all LOVED spending time with their beloved Grandpa Linford and the feeling was OBVIOUSLY mutual.....

The Linford Family in the early days!
*
****
"My, how you've grown."
I remember that phrase from my childhood days too.
*
Every time we say goodbye
you're frozen in my mind
as the child that you never will be, again
*
At your age, in a string of days
the year is gone.
Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost,
I must let these memories provide.
No little girl can stop her world to wait for me.
I must let these memories provide.
No little girl can stop her world to wait for me.
I LOVE you my "SWEET" little, Athlete, Dancer, Tumbler, Artist, Genius...
Halle "BUG"
You'll always be the one that made me a" GRAMMY".
9 Years has passed way too fast!

Loved reading that. I can't believe how much dad looks like Grandpa! When dad is old (which is a long time from now :)) he will look like Grandpa I think. In Grandpa's younger days Dad and him look so alike.
