The Strongest Generation
We have never had a stronger generation of Young men and women then we have today. Surrounded by the forces that would pull them down and tremendous pressures to pull them away from time-tested virtues, they are going forward with constructive lives, nurturing themselves both intellectually and spiritually. We have no fears or doubts concerning their future. These words spoken by our beloved Gordon B. Hinckley ring true. I am so amazed at the young people I have the privilege of knowing and associating with. As you all know Jay had the amazing opportunity to serve on the High Council and then as Bishop in the BYU 6th. Stake. During those 5 years I also served in various callings in the 6th. Stake and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to have my life blessed by the young families living in our ward and Stake. It never ceased to amaze me how good and obedient these great people were and are. I currently have a nephew who is serving a full time mission in Russia. I always look forward to reading my sister's blog hoping to find a new picture or story from his mission. I am feeling a little jealous, because I can still remember what it felt like to have my own son's serving in the mission field. Once in a while I have the privilege of seeing young missionaries in my neighborhood, and it brings such a good feeling to my heart and almost always brings a tear to my eye. These young people are truly "THE STRONGEST GENERATION" saved for this time when the world so desperately needs hope and goodness.

Well, let me tell you as one of the families who had the honor of being in your husband's ward when he was bishop, it sure helps to have wonderful leaders with awesome wives who help you get through the refiner's fires of our lives. You and your husband will always hold a very special place in our hearts!
