It's In The Blood!

The Linford name has always been synonymous with athleticism.
First there's Jay's Dad who played both basketball and football for the University of Wyoming,
then of course there's Paul Linford, Raymond Linford and Jay who all played for BYU and went on to sign contracts in the NFL as well.

The BYU days
Paul  Raymond  Jay

So it's not really a shocker that our children all grew up and continued the legacy.
Jackson went on to BYU Idaho to wrestle, Jayson to Utah State to play football and Ashley to University of Utah to Dance. (yes dancing does take athleticism )
One important Tid Bit in this equation is the "Athleticism" didn't just come from the Linford side of the family.
I always knew My Dad was a Stud, and I married a man just like him.
They both played football for Granite and they both went on to play for BYU as well.
Now there are other members of the Smith Brood who are making a mark on the athletic forefront..
My Darling, Amazing, Incredibly talented Nephew is headed for athletic greatness as well
Some say he is a Football "Phenom" and I would have to agree.

This kid has played Varsity since he was a freshman and is force to be reckoned with.
He is being recruited by multiple colleges and will no doubt receive a scholarship.
I sure hope he follows suit and picks the best... Of course BYU.
June 2nd. was the first day athletes entering their Jr. year could be contacted by recruiters and wouldn't you know it on that very day he received this letter from Lance Reynolds the asst. Head coach at BYU.
He wrote this letter telling Marcus all about his experience's with my Dad.
My Dad coached Lance as well as many other great athletes that went on to play college and professional football.
I loved the letter It warmed my heart

Football is an AWESOME sport that builds strength, courage, integrity and really teaches a person how to get down and work HARD...
My Dad's favorite quote  "Football makes boys into men" and I completely agree.
When I see the great impact athletics and football in particular had on my boys and husband I am so grateful that they all had the GREAT experience to play the game.
Now we get the opportunity to have another member of the family follow the same path to greatness...
Good Luck Marcus!!!

Weekend At The Orem Summerfest!

We decided to attend the Summerfest this year and I have to admit it was NOT the most pleasant.
The Parade was a total BUST.  I practically had to drag Jay kicking and screaming, but I did get him there..
Hey Orem City, Here's a good idea, how about actually having floats in your parade... Yeah it would have been nice to see some SPECTACULAR floats but nope..It was pretty lame to say the least.
Upside...McCartney loved it.  The carnival was So So and we were really worried the the whole night would be a waste, but NOPE the fireworks were simply AMAZING..
The kids did enjoy the rides and that made the whole night worth it!

once it's in the blood it never leaves! Seriously! I also believe that those who have had the opportunity to be a part of athletics, know how much of an impact it has on your life and they want their children to have those opportunities as well. I want all of my kids (all 2) ;) to be active in anything they love to do! Plus, the games can be the best part! :D
